A recreational vehicle manufacturer was looking for a captive fastener for a newly developed adjustable seat mechanism. Key design requirements for the captive fastener included:
- It must be hand operated.
- It must employ a locking mechanism which could withstand severe shock and vibration.
- It must be long enough so as to pass through a deep recess in the seat foam.
- It must provide 4 positions of adjustment and be fully retractable.
